Recently enacted IDROP improvements will soon take effect.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) will list participating pharmacies and clinics on their website, educate pharmacies and providers across Illinois about how they can voluntarily participate in I-DROP, and launch a public awareness campaign highlighting the program’s benefits.

Starting later this year, IDPH will release an annual report on the program to the Illinois General Assembly, ensuring transparency and tracking the program’s impact.

These improvements will make it easier for Illinois residents to access safe, donated medications. By increasing awareness and improving oversight, more people will benefit from this cost-saving and potentially life-saving initiative.
